Overview

Chris and Jerry had planned to do a New Zealand FUZ-moto. Last year it didn't happen. This year, Chris was recovering from back surgery so we did a little Mexico ride instead. And Nena was scheduled for a cruise late May/early June so we were definitely going to do something then. But then Covid-19 hit and we all got isolated for a few months. I was fortunate to have our whole family plus significant others visiting Vancouver for a long spring break.

After Nicky and Olivier flew back to Montreal on May 18 and experienced emtpy airports I thought now was a great time to travel. Super cheap and very low risk with the depopulated planes and airports and mask-wearing protocols, etc. It seemed a nonstop from PDX to GDL might well be less risky than a trip to the grocery store.

After consulting with Jerry and Gabriel, I booked a flight. The flight got cancelled, then rescheduled a couple of weeks later, so I didn't end up flying until June 20. By that time, travel was getting more routine again. My plane was about 75% full.
